Devon Dance Centre is pleased to introduce a new Associate program to its timetable

The South-West Associate Programme offers non-syllabus masterclasses for talented boys and girls aged 7-17 who love to dance and wish to progress towards a professional dance career. The South-West Associate Program is a Pre-Vocational program of Saturday Classes which aims to provide talented children with the training they need to flourish in the artistic path of their choice. The South-West Associate programme has been created to complement the student’s current training, enabling them to continue to study with their regular dance teacher.

The Audition Panel will be looking for dancers who show potential to grow as a dancer, have good musicality and more importantly, show a love of dancing.

The South-West Associate Program is split into three sections; Juniors from 7-10, Middle from 11-13 and Senior from 14-17. Students study classical ballet, repertoire, body conditioning, classical technique, music artistry, performance skills, pointe work (Middle and Senior Associate Girls) and virtuosity ( Middle and Senior Associate Boys) . Students are also offered the opportunity to take part in Choreographic competitions and dance awards.

The South-West Associates gives the best attention to detail and all of our classes are taught by our fully qualified teachers. We pride ourselves on our outstanding results, and many of our pupils have gone on to study at prestigious vocational schools, including The Royal Ballet School, Arts Educational schools, Central School of Ballet, Laine Theatre Arts, Rambert School of Dance, Italia Conte, Brits Academy and London Studio Centre.

Places are only granted by audition, and classes will be held every Saturday during term time at Devon Dance Centre’s studios in Torquay.
